Jan, I think even if Wang is out for an extended period of time, the Yankees aren’t going to be in the mix for Halladay. I just don’t think they’ve got the prospects to get it done, and I think it would cost a division rival even more than any other team.

I think the Yankees will only go for Halladay when they find out if Wang’s injury is long term or not.

Brandon, first of all there’s no salary cap in baseball. There’s only a luxury tax that teams have to pay if they go over.

Secondly, there’s no way Toronto does the deal you’re proposing. Rolen’s having a pretty good year and despite his contract is definitely worth something. Halladay as you know is worth a TON. Ramirez & Poreda is a good start but to be honest I think the Jays would probably ask for Beckam as well and probably a prospect to boot.

I think the white sox have an outside shot at Halladay. The Jays really want a shortstop and would love to package wells or rolen with Halladay. I have no idea if the money works out with the salary cap and all but i propose a Halladay and Rolen to the White Sox for Floyd, Ramirez, Poreda and a Prospect. Thats my offer, and it then the sox move Beckam to short and Have a lineup of Pods, Pierzynski, Dye, Thome, Konerko, Quentin, Rolen, Getz, Beckam. And your rotation is Halladay, Buerhle, Danks, Contreras, Colon. What does anyone think?
